Carol Wilber was appointed Director of Marketing and Communciations of CEDC in 2013. Prior to her appointment she served as Communications Director for the New York State Senate. She previously held senior marketing positions at Kinderhook Bank and Questar III BOCES. With over 30 years of marketing management experience in the public and private sectors, Carol’s range of competencies include marketing, communications, media and public relations, graphic design, branding and strategic planning.
Carol has received awards recognizing her excellence in marketing and graphic design by the NYS Economic Development Council, the New York State School Public Relations Association, and the National School Public Relations Association. Since joining CEDC, she has completed the Basic Economic Development Course offered through the NYS Economic Development Council and the Economic Development Marketing and Attraction Course offered by the International Economic Development Council.
Actively involved in the community, Carol has held numerous leadership positions. Carol is a member of the Columbia-Greene Community College Foundation Board of Directors. She is the former President of both the Chatham Board of Education and the Columbia County School Boards Association, and has served on the several community boards including, the Columbia County Industrial Development Agency (IDA), Columbia County Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Columbia-Greene Counties, American Red Cross of Northeastern New York, and the Columbia-Greene Workforce Investment Board. Carol is the former campaign treasurer for Assemblyman Pete Lopez.
Carol is the Manager of Big Woods Development, LLC; she and her husband Steve Wilber, own ADW Concrete Corporation, Inc. – both are Columbia County-based businesses.
