Columbia Economic Development Corporation (CEDC) today announced applications are now being accepted for the organization’s annual MicroBusiness Seminar Series.  This popular course will run September 18 – November 13.  All classes will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce at One North Front Street, Hudson, NY.

“Educating small business owners and entrepreneurs is an important part of CEDC’s strategy to strengthen the Columbia County business community,” stated CEDC President and CEO F. Michael Tucker.  “From education to economic development, Columbia Economic Development Corporation is committed to providing the resources needed for our business community to prosper in today’s competitive business world.”

The eight, two and a half-hour sessions are taught by professionals in their field.  Topics include marketing, bookkeeping, financing, and legal issues (see complete course list below).

“The MicroBusiness Seminar Series provides attendees with the information they need to create, sustain, and grow their businesses,” stated CEDC Business Development Specialist Martha Lane.  “Each session is delivered in an interactive manner by local experts in their field. Participants come away with the latest techniques, tips, and best practices to help take their business to the next level.”

The $195 course fee is refunded in the form of a one-year membership in the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce, or a gift card to Staples.  Scholarships are available.  Applications are available by calling CEDC at 518.828.4718.
