PROJECT HUDSON: REQUESTS FOR PROPOSALS FOR TOURISM PROJECTS

 

First Deadline for Proposals: June 26, 2020 | Second Deadline: July 6, 2020  | Third Deadline: July 16, 2020
Additional deadlines will be dependent on the availability of funding.  

 

Businesses and organizations based in the city of Hudson, NY are eligible to apply.  

 

The Hudson, NY Tourism Board is welcoming applications to fund projects that promote Hudson as an attractive destination and that strengthen our local communities and economy.  This grant program is being administered with the help and support of Columbia Economic Development Corporation (CEDC).  

 

The Hudson NY, Tourism Board is Accepting Proposals For:

      • Short-term projects with awards of up to $5,000.  Selected short term projects will be funded 50% of award upon the decision to fund, contingent on execution details provided in this application.  The remaining funding will be issued on a reimbursement basis, based upon submission of an invoice for expenditures made in support of the project and accompanied by a brief written progress report submitted via email. A brief written final report must be submitted via email within 30 days of project completion.
      • Long-term projects with awards up to $15,000. Selected long term projects will be funded 50% of award upon the decision to fund, contingent on execution details provided in this application. The remaining funding will be issued on a reimbursement basis, based upon submission of an invoice for expenditures made in support of the project and accompanied by a brief written progress report submitted via email. A brief written final report must be submitted via email within 30 days of project completion.*Projects selected by the Tourism Board from community-based organizations that request under $2,500 of funding, but which cannot be executed on a 50% reimbursable basis, will be referred to Columbia Economic Development Corporation’s Hudson Tourism Fund for an upfront advance necessary to cover the 50% reimbursement requirement.
The Tourism Board has earmarked a potential $50,000 in funding for short-term projects and $100,000 in funding for long-term projects, however the Tourism Board does not commit to spending the full amount.  Applicants are permitted to apply for multiple or successive funding rounds. Each will be evaluated separately.
 

The Tourism Board will Consider Applications That: 

      • Take place in the City of Hudson.
      • Enliven Hudson’s city life.
      • Illuminate or create a unique experience of Hudson’s communities and businesses.
      • Create local opportunities for recreation and/or promotion, and/or seek to advance walkability.
      • Create local opportunities for climate resiliency, where applicable.
      • Are accessible to all audiences and ADA compliant, where applicable.
      • Use “tactical urbanism,” which encourages low cost, impermanent, and DIY projects, where applicable.

The first deadline for project proposals is June 26, 2020.
The second deadline is July 6, 2020
The third deadline is July 16, 2020.
Additional monthly deadlines will be dependent on the availability of funding.

Proposals may be submitted to the Tourism Board by filling out this Online Form  or delivering a printed copy (here) of your application to Hudson City Hall c/o Tamar Adler.

      • **If using the online form, we recommend drafting your responses in a separate document prior and copy/pasting them into the online form when you are ready to submit in case of technical issues.**

 

 

Funding for each project is contingent on approval from the Hudson Common Council. The Tourism Board will notify applicants of proposal status after the immediately succeeding formal Common Council meeting.
