Lt. Governor Visits Skywalk

June 7, 2019

Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul visited the newly opened Hudson River Skywalk on Friday to highlight state investments in infrastructure. The Skywalk, which connects Olana State Historic Site to the Thomas Cole National Historic Site, was a $11 million state investment. In addition to pedestrian walkways, bike paths and viewing platforms, the project also involved construction of a traffic circle. Hochul took a tour of the walkway Friday afternoon.

Hudson River Skywalk Opens with Fanfare

Capital Region is NY’s 2nd Fastest-Growing Region

The Capital Region again was state’s second-fastest growing region in 2018.  The eight-county region last year had a population of 1,084,941, up 248 from the previous year. The only region with stronger year-over-year growth was the Mid-Hudson Region at 0.1 percent, according to a Center for Economic Growth analysis of new U.S. Census Bureau data.
